CS Lewis wrote the Four Loves (available with audible; taught by him) and the first love he focuses on is Storge (store-gey) or affection. This is the kind of love between family and loved ones. He says that this love and eros are the most common and easiest loves to come by. With the ways things are in the 2020s, that’s not always the case.
The love of affection is kind of squashed by social media. People tend to hide behind social media and only show affection to their families. It used to be kind of easy for me to get my four daily hugs, but now it’s rare. I think affection is really hard to get unless you ask for it and not everybody likes to touch.
But we all crave it and we all need it. It warms my heart when someone wants to touch me lovingly just caused they bumped into me. I am like that myself. I would like to listen to people and hug them once it won’t kill us. The love of affection is not as common as it used to be and I used to get lots of affection. It’s like we all just stopped being loving at some point. Or maybe that’s just me. I can’t speak for everyone.
Maybe we should all get some hugs. I can’t wait for everyone to get the shot so we can hug again.
